The Kisumu League delivered another exciting round of games on March 14, with teams battling for early positioning on the standings as the season continues to heat up.
Game 1: Andaki 66 – 53 Tritons
Andaki continued their impressive run with a 66–53 victory over the Tritons. The win keeps Andaki unbeaten after four games, pushing them up to 3rd position in the standings.
Derreck Oyier led the charge for Andaki with 17 points, while Maxwell Okech added 14 points to secure the victory.
For the Tritons, Gilbert Amolo finished with 14 points, closely followed by Contrevor Owen who contributed 13 points in a determined effort.
Game 2: Hashiras 71 – 54 Hoop Hunters
In the second matchup of the day, the Hashiras delivered a strong performance to defeat the Hoop Hunters 71–54.
Hoop Hunters were led by Stanley Ochieng, who scored 18 points, with Fanuel Seda adding 15 points. However, the Hashiras proved too strong, with Moses Omondi putting up 14 points and Edwin Ochieng adding 12 points in the win.
Looking Ahead
Andaki will look to extend their unbeaten streak when they face the struggling Raiders on Sunday, March 22, with a chance to close the month’s fixtures with a perfect record.
The day’s action will begin with the Raiders taking on Kisumu Generals at 9:30 AM. Kisumu Generals will be eager to improve their tally and climb the rankings as they still have two games in hand. They will also face top-seeded UBV in the final game of the day, a matchup that could significantly impact the standings.
Following the March 22 fixtures, the 5x5 competition will take a short break as teams shift focus to the March edition of the monthly 3x3 tournament, scheduled for Saturday, March 28. The tournament is expected to feature six women’s teams and three men’s teams, promising a day of fast-paced and exciting basketball.
