FAM Kenya continued their impressive rise in the National Community League (NCL) with a convincing 65-49 victory over Vikapu Wolves, extending their winning streak to six games and strengthening their position among the league’s top contenders.
Entering the contest, FAM Kenya were already one of the form teams in the competition, and they showed exactly why with a composed performance on both ends of the floor. The victory moves FAM to an 8-4 record, keeping them firmly in the race near the top of the standings as they continue to chase the unbeaten leaders, Lekina Basketball Academy.
FAM’s offense was led by Richard Mala, who finished with a game-high 14 points while adding two steals and shooting 50 percent from three-point range. Davi Baraka provided excellent support with 13 points, five rebounds, and three assists, while Deng Atenn chipped in nine points and six rebounds in an efficient outing.
The difference for FAM was their balanced attack. Five players scored at least five points, ensuring that Vikapu could not focus on stopping a single scorer. Despite committing turnovers, FAM consistently found ways to create quality scoring opportunities and maintain control of the game.
Vikapu Wolves fought hard throughout the contest and had several contributors step up. Elly Brynan led the Wolves with 11 points, including three three-pointers, while Juan David added 10 points and five rebounds. Joshua Faraja contributed eight points, but the Wolves struggled to find consistent offensive production beyond their leading scorers.
Defensively, FAM did an excellent job limiting Vikapu’s efficiency. The Wolves shot below 40 percent from the field as a team and were unable to build sustained scoring runs whenever they looked poised to cut into the deficit.
The win marks another statement performance from FAM Kenya, who continue to prove they belong among the NCL’s elite teams. With six consecutive victories now under their belt, confidence is growing within the squad as the playoff race begins to take shape.
For Vikapu Wolves, the defeat is a setback, but there were still positives to take from the game. Competitive performances from Brynan and Juan David showed the team’s potential, and they will look to regroup quickly as they continue their push for a stronger position in the standings.
As the season progresses, FAM Kenya are building momentum at exactly the right time. If they can maintain this level of play, they will remain one of the biggest threats to the league’s top teams and a serious contender when the postseason arrives.
