Back at home at the Lakeside city, some good things are happening
Yes, the Kisumu Basketball League is up and running and Sports Ground will be one busy place.
The eight Men's teams are lined up for the fight that will come to a close in June with the finals.
Action tipped off over the weekend with with four matches on the card. There are plans for the Women sides as well.
Red hot Moses Omondi lit the league with a season high 34 points to guide his side Hashiras to a lively 69-59 result against Tritons.
Daniel Odongo registered 15 Points while Tritons’ Kelsey Ochieng made 23 Points & Jacob Israel 10 Points for the loosing side .
In their second game, Tritons hammered Hoop Hunters 80-62 in the opening game. Sam Mathenge posted 17 points and Rolines Oburu nailed 14 for Hunters.
Kelsey Ochieng also bailed 17 points for Tritons with Bryson Bitange providing 18 Points.
The other game saw, Urbanville (UBV) squeeze a lowly but close 44 - 37 result against Hashiras
Milton Amadi shot 16 points for UBV . Austin Oluoch had 10 Points for Hashiras & Emmanuel Simiyu managed 7 in the loss.
Hoop hunters were hunted down by UBV who beat them 56-52. UBV were pepped by Carl Kanga who notched 10 Points and Milton Amadi 13.
Rolines Oburu buried 16 points and Stanley Ochieng 12 for the hapless Hoop Hunters.
Coming up this weekend will be matches featuring Andaki Basketball, Raiders Basketball , UBV, Tritons, Hashiras & Hoop Hunters.
